Let the 97X adventure begin

The bands have been announced and the concert tickets have been confirmed. This year’s adventure to Tampa Bay’s 97X Next Big Thing is well into the planning process. With a killer line up that consists of Bush, Raise Against, Grouplove, Flogging Molly, Silver Sun Pickups, and Fun. there was no question about it; I am more than ready to make the three hour drive to the venue. Despite the fact that NBT has changed locations and I have never been to St. Petersburg I am so pumped for this. I am ready for waking up almost 10 hours before the concert and running my little ass to barricade. The countdown has begun and it is only a matter of time before I begin ranting/blogging about the excitement of continuing the tradition of going to 97x’s NBT.

And now for your lovely eyes here are some pictures that a friend took at past Next Big Thing concerts.

Wait, what?

As I was scrolling aimlessly through my Twitter feed I found a tweet By Listen Before You Buy posting about a “a fantastic new song and video by an almost-unheard of new artist” I’m going to admit this caught my attention and I waited for the next tweet, which, as promised, lived up to the hype that they claimed.

This artist goes by the name of Young Cairo and his single is titled “Ghosts.” From the beginning the song catches your attention with a catchy indie pop riff. The mixture of Young Cario’s voice, the guitar and drums is so catching that you tend to forget where you are and find yourself tapping your foot and swaying back and forth.

This song is just what we need as everyone heads back into the dull routine of classes. If this song is any indication of what this artist has to offer then I wait in excitement to hear more.
